Three Vehicles Donated by John E. Saylor
We’re pleased to announce the addition of three outstanding automobiles to the Museum’s 300+ vehicle collection. The late John E. Saylor (Mechanicsburg, PA) generously donated a 1957 Buick Century, a 1957 Cadillac Fleetwood, and a 1969 Cadillac Eldorado. A lifelong motoring enthusiast, he built an eclectic collection of nearly two dozen vehicles.
John demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence and achievement in everything he pursued. He was an active member of the Gettysburg Region Antique Automobile Club of America, an award-winning editor for antique car publications, and an avid collector of early US currency.
After many years as a professional civil engineer, he began a home design business specializing in 18th-century structures. His love for historic architecture is reflected in his designs of several buildings in the Mechanicsburg area.
John was a good friend and supporter of America’s Transportation Experience. Always ready to engage in conversation, he had curiosity for living and a zest for life. We are ever-grateful for his donation.
