Our museum has been a busy place this year! Together, we have been on a mission to make America’s Transportation Experience the place where people come together to learn, reminisce, and explore in an engaging and interactive atmosphere. … And we’ve succeeded.
We’ve welcomed more guests, hosted more events, and grown our membership to the highest level in our history! It’s a privilege for all of us to be associated with an enterprise that continues to succeed and grow. I think back to Bill Smith’s words when interviewed by Barry Maguire, “I always thought a museum would do well here [in Hershey].” Bill Smith was, of course, correct — just as he was in so many other areas.
This year, we’ve kicked off a three-phase “Accelerate” capital campaign that, in just a few short months, has raised $262,604 — an incredible accomplishment. Thank you! Large and small donations have been received from throughout the museum community: Museum volunteers, members, guests, directors, and friends. It has been humbling to see the outpouring of support.
We have raised the funds necessary to pay for a new vehicle display turntable, replace our leaking roof, and cover a portion of the cost of our aging HVAC system. Our property committee reports that we must raise an additional $240,000 to meet our infrastructure needs. We hope that we can count on you during the Annual Appeal to help achieve our goal.
During the Christmas season, as we look to the new year, we are full of hope for the future.
We sincerely appreciate your continued support, dedication, and encouragement as we strive to preserve and engagingly present transportation history for our guests.
Thank you in advance for your help. On behalf of everyone here at the AACA Museum, Inc., I appreciate having you as part of our growing family.
Sincerely,
Henry W. “Hank” Hallowell, III
