Professional Vehicles: 100 Years of Service
May 18, 2024—Oct 20, 2024
Location: Throughout the Museum
Beginning in May 2024, the museum presents Professional Vehicles: 100 Years of Service spotlighting transportation alternatives that powered the efforts and determination of American service industries. For 100 years, specialized professional cars and trucks have been vital in protecting citizens, delivering on promises, chauffeuring VIPs, and even leading the way to final destinations.
The exhibit features an array of professional vehicles in four settings. The “riding-in-style” display includes famed businessman and former U.S. Vice President Nelson Rockefeller’s 1960 Imperial limousine and Whitney Houston’s personal Rolls Royce limo. The “protect-and-serve” display highlights several decades of emergency vehicles, and “moving en masse” highlights reliable people-moving buses. Finally, the “legacy and honor” display includes vintage funeral vehicles that conveyed loved ones to their final destinations.
More information is coming soon.
